The Theater League of Clifton will be performing its dinner/theater production of “Meshuggah-Nuns!” next year at Mario’s Restaurant, 710 Van Houten Ave., Clifton.
The 2023 performance dates (10 shows over four weekends) are February 25 and 26, and March 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 12, 18, and 19. Friday and Saturday performances start at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees begin at 4 p.m. All shows will be held at Mario’s Restaurant. The show involves the Little Sisters of Hoboken joining forces with a Tevye character (the lead male part in “Fiddler on the Roof”) to perform songs on board an ecumenical cruise ship, creating ecumenical “nunsense.” (Meshuggah means “crazy” in Yiddish.) Kaufman has a long list of credits, directing shows for the Theater League of Clifton, Nutley Little Theater, the Montclair Operetta Club and the Bergen County Players. He’s also been a theater teacher at several northern New Jersey schools. Mark Peterson, the president of the Theater League of Clifton, will serve as the show’s producer. Jalmari Vanamo, the group’s vice president, will be the stage manager. Founded in 2005, the Theater League of Clifton is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering an appreciation of the arts through theatrical performances, while providing quality entertainment for all ages. The Theater League of Clifton welcomes volunteers in all aspects of performance and production. |
