Stephen Burke

Tony Alto
Stephen is thrilled to be working again with the Theater League of Clifton and Maren Sugarman.  His favorite past roles include Adult Man is Spring Awakening (Dover Little Theater) King Arthur in Spamalot (Main Street Theater)  Mr. Bumble in Oliver!(TLC) , Greg in Sylvia (North Star) and Pratt in Mile 59 (Sussex CCC).  Thank you to everyone who made this show possible, and love to Mom

Karen Bednarz

Toffee Alto
Karen’s previous TLC performances include  Addam's Family (Ancestor Nun), Man of La Mancha (Housekeeper), The Man Who Came to Dinner (Mrs. Stanley), and her favorite: playing Dorothy in the Golden Girls Dinner Theater, the one you loved to hate, ah forget about it!  Karen’s back to showcase her softer side as Toffee Alto “che figata”.  She feels fortunate to work with such a talented group of performers, both on and off stage. In bocca al lupo!  Special thanks to all my dear friends and family who come out to support my theatre dreams “amici per la pelle”!

Mary Laido

Nona
Mary - Nona -  is happy to be back with the Theater League of Clifton. Mary was last seen with the League as Angela in" My Big Gay Italian Wedding". Other roles include Aunt Gert, in "Lost in Yonkers", juror#8 in, "12 Angry Jurors" and Jennie Malone in " Chapter Two".

Felipe Rodriguez

Felipe is excited to be a part of another Theater League of Clifton production as Tony Alto’s nephew Chris. You may have seen his last appearance for the Theater League as the whip-
slinging muleteer Pedro in ‘Man of La Mancha’ and Trilogy Repertory’s production of ‘Shakespeare in Hollywood’ as Dick Powell. Felipe is also a member of the board for the St. James Players in Montclair helping to decide which Shakespeare show people get to enjoy next. He hopes everyone enjoys their dinner and the show and wishes good luck to everyone trying to guess whodunnit.

Sheldon Stone

Uncle Senior
This is the second show Sheldon has done with TLC.  Sheldon was in last years Murder Mystery Murder At The Banquet.  Sheldon has done over 80 shows with various community theaters including the Bergen County Players, Players Gulld of Leonia and Nutley Little Theater.  His favorites are Arsenic And Old Lace, The King And I, 12 Angry Jurors, Deathtrap, Whodunnit, The Lion In Winter and Doubles.  He has also done other Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre shows with Mysterical Players. Sheldon retired in 2008 from his job in film distribution with 20th Century Fox.  After he retired he became a working actor and has done commercials, industrials, voice overs, historical recreations on several cable channels as well as other projects.  He went back to community theater during that time because he loves the stage.  He and his wife of 55 years love to travel and have been all over the world.  Sheldon has 2 married children and 2 wonderful granddaughters.  Sheldon thanks Maren for this opportunity and hopes to perform again for TLC in the future.

Maren Sugarman

Director / Dr. Malaise
MAREN SUGARMAN (Director) is a graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. For Theater League of Clifton she has directed Murder at the Banquet, The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940, Murder on the Menu, Man of La Mancha, Waiting for Christmas, and Oliver! Other directing credits include: Clifton's ATC Conservatory productions of Macbeth, Brighton Beach Memoirs (nomination, NJACT Perry Award, Best Production of a Play), The Tragedie of Romeo & Juliet, and A Raisin in the Sun; You Can't Take it With You, for interACT Productions, Maplewood; I Hate Hamlet, and Shadowlands for UCC Players, Montclair; Private Lives for Westfield Community Players, Westfield. She is the Founding Artistic Director of ATC Studios' Shakespeare on Site, presenting Shakespeare plays annually at Historic venues in Paterson (Lambert Castle, The Great Falls, Paterson Museum), since 2014. Many thanks to my stalwart cast, John, Mark, JoAnne, and the incredible servers at Mario's and The Village Inn. Delighted as always to work with TLC!

Paul Sugarman

Father Flip
​Paul is founder of the Instant Shakespeare Company, which
presents annual readings of ALL of Shakespeare’s plays in New York City and online with over1,000 Shakespeare readings performed. He has worked with the Actors Shakespeare Company asactor, teacher, Verse Coach, Assistant Playmaster and appeared in Henry V, The Three Musketeers, The Merchant of Venice, As You Like It, King John, and Hamlet in addition to
Shakespeare compilations such as All the World’s a Stage. Performed with Shakespeare on Site at the Paterson Museum and the Great Falls as Theseus/Oberon in A Mini-Midsummer Night’s Dream and Prospero in The Tempest. With the ATC Conservatory Players he has worked as Dramaturg and played Duncan/Macduff in The Tragedie of Macbeth, Capulet in Romeo and Juliet, and Theseus in A Midsommer Night’s Dreame. Paul received a BFA from New York University and studied with Kristin Linklater and Tina Packer at Shakespeare & Company where he played as Costard in Loves Labour’s Lost.

Besides stage managing for Clifton Theatre League, JoAnne has been actively working on films, TV and commercials. Perhaps you caught her in the T-Mobile superbowl commercial with the Backstreet Boys, or on Elsbeth, or Devil Wears Prada 2.
